POETRY COLLECTIONS

Indigo Dreams publishes around 25 full collections each year which we feel have a little something special to offer.  We rarely publish collections in excess of 72 pages, including non-poetry pages. It is unlikely we will accept if considerably in excess of this.

Please do not send unsolicited manuscripts - submissions must be made using our  Publishing Enquiry Form.

With a capacity of 2/3 published collections each month, both Indigo Dreams and the poet must be confident of achieving sales levels that will give a worthwhile return on time and outlay.

The majority of poetry sales come from the poet's own readings and contacts. Trade sales are generally insignificant compared to Mail Order and author sales. You MUST be prepared promote your collection to achieve maximum sales. It is unlikely we will consider a collection unless a level of success has been achieved in the poetry presses, so please do not submit until this has been achieved.

Please send your final, complete pamphlet collection to us as one WORD document set in 10 point Palatino Linotype, maximum 36 lines per page, including title and stanza breaks. NO CONTENTS PAGE OR SECTION BREAKS PLEASE. This should be sent as an attachment to your email, together with the completed form. Do not include any poems that have previously been published in book form except anthologies/magazines

Please do not complete the form if the collection is under consideration elsewhere or you are intending simultaneous submissions.

'PLEASURE, NOT PRESSURE'

We always love to read your poetry and consider for publication. Our capacity however is some 3 books per month, which means we have to reject many we enjoy and disappoint some extremely talented poets.

Part of the consideration is the potential sales of each book. We are totally independent and receive no outside funding from Arts Council or anywhere else. The bottom line of that is that we need every book we publish to play its part in the survival/success of our company through sales. It’s how we survive!
